Dr Gabby Ostrognay

With over two decades of experience in executive coaching and leadership development, Dr. Ostrognay has dedicated her career to fostering environments where leaders can thrive, and organisations can flourish.

Dr. Ostrognay’s extensive background includes roles in technology, management consulting, coaching and mentoring and significant leadership positions where she developed comprehensive strategies for executive capability development. Her experience spans various industries including health, finance, education, enabling her to provide tailored advice that respects the unique challenges of each sector. By using a combination of assessment tools and feedback systems, she crafts bespoke strategies for sustainable change, ensuring that her clients not only meet but exceed their leadership potential.

Managing the executive capability function at Coles Group, Dr. Ostrognay developed a comprehensive view of executive talent for the CEO, Executive Team and Board. In this role, she established assessment and feedback systems, and worked with individual executives to focus and support their development. At Telstra she managed the CEO’s Executive Leadership Program and was responsible for the Organisation Development function.

As a management consultant with Aon Hewitt, Dr. Ostrognay worked with organisations to assess and enhance the culture of businesses and engagement of employees, develop leadership programs, and design talent management systems. She provides pro bono coaching for humanitarian leaders located in different parts of the world through HCN.

Qualifications

Dr. Ostrognay has a PhD in Psychology from The University of Melbourne (Organisational Leadership) and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and Statistics from the same university. An evidence-based practitioner, she holds current accreditations in The Leadership Circle 360, Hogan Personality Assessments, Korn Ferry’s personality instrument TalentQ, LeaderAmp e-coaching, SHL Assessments (cognitive and personality, Facet5 (personality, Leadership 360), MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator – Step 1 and 2), Barret Values assessments, Human Synergistics (LSI and OCI), Lominger Voices 360 and Career Architect (career development) and many more.

Dr. Ostrognay is a Level 2 EMCC Global Accredited Coach and is a member of the Institute of Coaching (Harvard Medical School) and the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology. She is also an accredited narrative coach and key member of the Victorian Public Sector and Monash University executive coaching panels.

Personal Insights

Dr. Ostrognay is married with two daughters in their twenties and enjoys seeing movies and playing board games, collecting wine, and taking her dog for long walks.
